Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
congratulated the people of the district on the historic success of Gorakhpur
in the Swachh Survekshan Award Ceremony 2024-25. Gorakhpur has received third
place in the category of 'Safai Mitra Safe City' and 5-Star rating in the
Garbage Free Cities category. This is not only a symbol of the commitment of
the Municipal Corporation, but is also a living proof of the active
participation of common citizens.
During a courtesy visit to the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner
who returned after receiving the award in Lucknow, the Chief Minister said:
“This achievement of Gorakhpur gives further impetus to the spirit of Swachh
Bharat Mission. This result is the result of the awareness and dedication that
the Municipal Corporation and the people of the district have lived together.”
Gorakhpur becoming a 5-star Garbage Free City reflects
new standards of cleanliness. The Municipal Commissioner said that door-to-door
waste collection, digital tracking, composting units and awareness of citizens
made this success possible.
This achievement of Gorakhpur is a proof of the joint
efforts of all of us. Every sanitation worker, every officer and every citizen
who made this dream come true - my heartfelt thanks and best wishes to all of
you. This public participation, technology and team spirit make Gorakhpur an
example. “
This historic success of Gorakhpur is not only the
achievement of a city, but also an example of taking the mission of 'Swachh
Bharat - Saksham Bharat' to the masses.
Today, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, every city of Uttar Pradesh is touching new dimensions of
cleanliness, technology and public participation. This flight of Gorakhpur
shows that when the policy of the government, the commitment of the
administration and the participation of the public are together, then any city
can become a model city.
