Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a recent interaction
with his farmer brothers and sisters, commended their enthusiasm and active
participation in making the country self-reliant in agriculture and pulses. He
said, "It is extremely heartening to know that our farmer brothers and
sisters are willing to actively participate in making the country self-reliant
in agriculture and pulses." This statement underscores the Prime
Minister's vision that farmers are the foundation of India's economic progress.Prime Minister Modi emphasized in his interaction that
farmers are not only ensuring the country's food security but are also making a
significant contribution to self-reliance in pulses and other agricultural
products. He mentioned various government schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri
Kisan Samman Nidhi, the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, and the Crop Insurance
Scheme, which are proving helpful in empowering farmers and increasing their
income. Modi said, "Our government's goal is that every farmer not only
becomes self-reliant but also makes his mark in the global market. To this end,
we are promoting modern technology, organic farming, and digital
platforms."
In recent years, India has made significant progress in
pulse production. Under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana and the Pulses
Development Programme, the government has provided farmers with high-quality seeds,
advanced technology, and market facilities. As a result, pulse production in
the country has increased, reducing dependence on imports. The Prime Minister
also highlighted that increased pulse production has not only improved farmers'
incomes but is also important for the country's nutritional security. He urged
farmers to adopt organic farming and sustainable agricultural practices.
Emphasizing the importance of digital agriculture, the
Prime Minister said that platforms like e-NAM (National Agriculture Market) are
helping farmers get better prices for their produce. Furthermore, the
government is taking several initiatives to promote the use of drone technology
and smart farming. He said, "Our goal is for 21st-century India to not
only be self-reliant in agriculture but also become a global leader. Our
farmers are the strongest link in this direction."
The Prime Minister's address has infused new enthusiasm
among farmers. Farmers across the country have appreciated his schemes and
incentives. Rameshwar Singh, a farmer from Uttar Pradesh, said, "This
message from the Prime Minister inspires us to work harder. We want our country
to become completely self-reliant in pulses and grains."
This address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only
reflects his commitment to farmers, but also makes it clear that the
government's focus is on strengthening the rural economy and realizing the
dream of a self-reliant India. Through the coordination of farmers' hard work
and government policies, India is poised to achieve new milestones in the
agricultural sector.
