India's National Investigation
Agency (NIA) has made a major breakthrough by arresting Jasir Bilal Wani, a
resident of Srinagar. Wani is believed to be the technical expert of a
dangerous Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) module that masterminded the November 10 car
bomb attack near Delhi's Red Fort, which claimed the lives of 15 innocent
people. This NIA action marks another blow to the terrorist network. What happened on November 10? : A suicide bomber detonated
explosives in a car in a parking lot near Delhi's historic Red Fort. The NIA
investigation revealed that the attacker was Dr. Umar Un Nabi, a radicalized
medical professional. The attack was orchestrated by a JeM module that had been
planning drone and rocket attacks. The targets were sensitive locations in
Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. According to
investigating agencies, the attack was inspired by previous terrorist incidents
in which IEDs (improvised explosive devices) were used. The NIA arrested Wani
from Delhi, who was providing technical support to the module while living in
Srinagar. Wani's arrest is expected to reveal many of the module's secrets,
including training in drone technology and remote-controlled explosives.
Home Minister Amit Shah took a
strong stance on the incident, saying, "No laxity will be tolerated in the
country's fight against terrorism. The NIA and other agencies are active at
every level." Shah also raised the issue in Parliament and promised that
the culprits would be punished severely. His comments have sparked debate among
opposition parties.
The NIA's preliminary
investigation has revealed shocking facts. The radicalization of the members
involved in the attack is linked to academic institutions and the medical
field. Many young people, like Dr. Umar Un Nabi, were drawn to this path after
being exposed to online propaganda. The investigation revealed that recruitment
was taking place through social media and the dark web. Experts believe this
network is targeting youth through education and healthcare services.
Furthermore, the incident has created divisions at the political level. The
opposition accused the government of security lapses, while the ruling party
called for unity, calling it a national security issue. Experts say such
incidents pose a serious threat to India's internal security and require
further strengthening of intelligence agencies. The NIA has begun questioning
Wani, and the search for other members of the module has intensified. Vigilance
is being maintained in border areas, with a focus on planning drone strikes.
The central government has ordered further strengthening of security in Jammu
and Kashmir and Delhi. This arrest will not only strengthen the investigation
into the Red Fort attack but will also help crack down on terrorist modules
active across the country. Citizens have been urged to immediately report any
suspicious activity to the police.
