In India's cultural tradition,
women are considered symbols of creation, knowledge, and power. The Puranas
state, "Yatra naryastu pujyante ramante tatra devata." Meaning, where
women receive respect, honor, and authority, gods reside there. This eternal
message has become even more relevant in today's scientific age. The increasing
participation of women in study, teaching, and research in modern science
proves that women are not only inspiration but also a strong foundation for
innovation and progress.
From Inspiration to Achievement
Women in the world of science
have achieved unparalleled accomplishments through their talent, hard work, and
dedication. Kalpana Chawla brought
India's name to the world stage in space science. Tessy Thomas earned recognition as the "Missile Woman" by
making significant contributions to defense research. The contributions of Marie Curie, as well as the life of
space scientist Sunita Williams, bear testimony to the fact that new dimensions
of science can be forged through dedication and courage.
The active role of women
scientists in the Indian Space Research
Organization (ISRO) is taking India's space achievements to new heights.
These examples clearly
demonstrate that the exceptional contribution of women to scientific
achievements is a symbol of national progress. The Divinity of Science and
Women's Power
When women advance with a
dedicated work ethic in study, teaching, and research, the "divinity"
of science is truly manifested. Their contributions in every field, from
laboratories to space missions, from medicine to environmental protection, are
giving new direction to society.
In today's times, it is
essential that we encourage girls to pursue science education, provide equal
opportunities, and empower their participation in research and innovation. This
will truly restore the cultural ideal that places the highest value on women.
This theme of National Science
Day reminds us that the coordination of science and women's power is the
foundation of holistic development. Where women receive respect, opportunity,
and rights, knowledge, progress, and prosperity naturally flourish. Heartiest
congratulations and best wishes to all our countrymen on National Science Day.
May our country, India, become a global leader in science.
