Arunjot Singh Sodhi: An Experienced Media Personality Hailing from the Glorious Lineage of Sanatan Dharma

 

Arunjot Singh Sodhi—a descendant of Lord Rama's son, Lav, and a member of the 18th generation of Guru Ram Das Ji. He has been actively involved in the fields of Punjab politics and media for a considerable period. Hailing from a *Sanatan* family, Arunjot Singh Sodhi traces his lineage back to Lord Rama's son, Lav. He also belongs to the 18th generation of the fourth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Ram Das Ji. This historical lineage of his has been corroborated through letters by Smt. Anjali Rupani—wife of the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani—and by Kangana Ranaut, Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh. In 2007, when the Akali-BJP government was formed in Punjab, Arunjot Singh Sodhi served as the Media Advisor to Punjab's Finance Minister, Sardar Manpreet Singh Badal. When Sardar Manpreet Singh Badal left the Akali Dal to form a new political entity, Arunjot Singh Sodhi became a founding member of the People's Party of Punjab (PPP). Within the party, he shouldered the significant responsibilities of Office Secretary and Media In-charge. Later, when Manpreet Singh Badal dissolved his party and joined the Congress, Arunjot Singh Sodhi chose a different path, aligning himself with the Sikh *Sangat* (community). Arunjot Singh Sodhi has also carved a distinct niche for himself in the field of journalism, having served as the Deputy Editor for two years at *Ajit*—a renowned Punjabi newspaper in Punjab. He served as an anchor at the Doordarshan Kendra in Jalandhar for approximately eight years, where he successfully hosted numerous live programs. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Punjabi newspaper *Desh Bani* and also held the position of Editor-in-Chief for the TV channel PBN News. Additionally, he appeared as an actor in the Doordarshan film *Eh Tera Apmaan*. This film was based on the subject of female foeticide and was honored with a National Award by the Government of India. Arunjot Singh Sodhi is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association of India. He has also won several medals at the state level. Arunjot Singh Sodhi's wife served as a manager at a nationalized bank and is now retired. They have one daughter and one son. Their daughter, Tarannum Kaur Sodhi, is a gold medalist in her B.A. and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Deakin College in Pune.
