Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched the NDA's 2026 assembly
election campaign today in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, with a
massive roadshow. A large number of supporters were present at the roadshow,
and tight security arrangements were in place throughout the city.
During the visit, PM Modi
highlighted the efforts made by the central government for the upliftment of
urban poor in Kerala. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Amrut
Yojana, and other urban development projects have improved the lives of
millions of people.
The Prime Minister laid the
foundation stone for several important development projects during his Kerala
visit. He also flagged off four new trains, which will strengthen the state's
rail connectivity. PM Modi is also expected to address a public meeting today,
where he will speak about the state's development and the NDA's vision.

After Kerala, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Tamil Nadu. His next
stop is Maduranthakam, where he will address a large public meeting of the NDA.
Traffic diversions have been implemented in the city and security has been tightened
in view of the PM's visit.
The Assembly may bring a
resolution against the VB G RAM G Act. This resolution will demand the
reinstatement of MGNREGA.
Chief Minister MK Stalin
announced this during the motion of thanks on the Governor's address. He
accused the central government of weakening rural employment schemes.
This visit of Prime Minister
Modi to both Kerala and Tamil Nadu is expected to raise the political
temperature ahead of the elections proposed in April. The election strategies
