today in a tragic plane crash. His chartered plane crashed during landing at
Baramati Airport around 8:45 AM, killing all five people on board. This tragic

On January 28, 2026, a tragic
accident occurred at 8:45 AM during landing at Baramati Airport. The incident
involved an 8-seater chartered plane traveling from Mumbai to Baramati. A total
of 5 people, including Ajit Pawar, were killed in the crash, including 2
pilots, his personal assistant, and a security guard. According to initial
reports, the plane was attempting a second landing when it lost control and
crashed before reaching the runway. A fire broke out after the crash. The
Maharashtra government has expressed its condolences over the incident and
declared three days of state mourning, with all government programs canceled.

Ajit Pawar was born on July
22, 1959, in Deolali Pravara, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. In his political career,
he led several important departments in Maharashtra, including Water Resources,
Finance, and others. He was known for his strong grassroots connections,
administrative expertise, and his focus on developing schemes for the poor,
farmers, and underprivileged sections of society. He was currently serving as
the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, part of the NCP-BJP coalition
government. Rahul Gandhi said, "This is very painful news; I am deeply
saddened by the passing of Ajit Pawar." Eknath Shinde described the incident
as a very sad day for Maharashtra. Nitin Gadkari said, "Ajit Pawar was a
